I can haz morphine?

Well I had an exciting day today. I fell out of bed just in time to have Mr. Rat tell me he's worried about the dog. Flea is lying on the sofa, unmoving, shivering, and generally looking what we pet owners refer to as Not Good. So I call my vet who says bring her in, and I do, and fortunately when I arrive I find out another person rescheduled so I can get her right in. Five hours and a LOT of worry later - I find out Flea has ruptured a disc in her back. It's a small rupture, it will heal as long as we can keep her quiet, and she will be okay. We started her on laser therapy (did I mention I've had a broken tooth for roughly a year now? I need a dentist but the dog gets laser therapy. Oi.) and she's got her little pain meds and she is currently flaked out on the sofa whacked out of her gourd on pet-grad morphine.

All I can say is it's a damned good thing she's cute.
